Drivers are asked to exercise caution in this area.

From Black Forest Road to Meridian Road the posted limit at all times is 40 mph. This limit applies 24/7 even when construction activity may not be apparent or directly adjacent to the entire roadway.

Woodmen Road to Become
a Four-lane Expressway
El Paso County, with the Woodmen Road Metropolitan District, is widening Woodmen Road to four lanes. This project will tie already-completed safety and capacity issues together in an expressway solution.
This expressway solution will:

  • Widen Woodmen Road to a four-lane expressway with limited access points from east of Powers Boulevard to US 24.
  • Relocate utility corridors to outside roadway improvements.
  • Phase construction to maintain existing traffic flow.
  • Ensure business and residential access during construction.
